"For a guy from California, Wholey's is like a trip to europe. The Fish sandwiches are great -- we had the cod - deep fried -- WOW!! We spent an hour in the store - packed with people. One of our reunion friends (natives of Pittsburgh) told us the Strip District was a must see!! They were right! "One of the best deals in the city! My spouse and I both had the softshell crab sandwich. $6.99!!! Each sandwich consisted of two huge softshell crabs on a Mancini Bun. You can't beat it, unless you happen to be a crab. " - posted on urbanspoon.com

"We allways buy the cold water lobster tails,shrimp & scallops never disappointed! Bought lobster rolls to try for the first time,they were fantasic sorry we didn't get more! “Great Experience!” "This place is bustling with people! They have a great selection of fish and I found it very cool, how you can stand and watch them scale the fish and get it prepared for the customer. The fish you can order from the restaurant is spectacular! It has so much flavor! I would recommend getting a few pieces to at least try, there. It's worth it!" - posted on tripadvisor.com

This place is one of the coolest places ever. Where i come from all we have is Walmart Super centers and other chain grocery stores. This place feels like it is. A grocery \fish market\ Meat packing place. The seafood selection is great here as well as the chicken beef and pork. The best reason to go here while on your journey on the strip is for a Whaler sandwich. People you do not need fries with this fresh mammoth fish sandwich. They bread it in front of you. You gotta make you way to this place while your in town and in the strip district.
