For a truly memorable event, Wholey is proud to offer a whopping 20 pounds of delicious jumbo Alaskan king crab legs. This case of crab legs arrives on your doorstep, direct from the wilds of Alaska, where our fishermen are constantly on the hunt for the biggest and most delicious king crab. With the average person eating about one pound of crab, this case is enough to satisfy a large dinner party or a small event. It's also an impressive way to show off a little for your guests without having to do much prep work in advance. In other words, all king crab legs really need is to be defrosted before serving. They arrive fully cooked and ready to impress even the most discerning palates. Our Alaskan fishermen cook, freeze and ship only the largest crab legs within hours of catching them in the frigid, inhospitable waters the king crab calls home. But, thankfully for you, you don't have to go quite that far in order to enjoy them yourself.
Thaw frozen legs completely.
Break at the joints.
Use a scissors to cut down both sides of each shell.
Lift off and discard the upper half, leaving the meat on the lower half.
For 1½ pounds crab legs, melt ¼ cup butter and stir in 2 tablespoons lemon juice and ½ teaspoon dry tarragon. Arrange crab legs, shell side down in a shallow baking dish and brush generously with butter mixture.
Broil 5 to 6 inches from heat just until hot (4 to 5 minutes).
